Challenge

As a global Upstream business there was a need to be able to connect key data and engineers globally to help work on common challenges, learn lessons and reduce non productive time.

Approach

Initiated a program of work which started by analysing current ways of working and pain points and led to delivery of a central platform which was used to share best practice and connect engineers for collaboration on critical issues.

Impact

  • Greater than $500m of value through a reduction in non-productive time
  • Engineers had a global platform they could use to get access to the right expertise, share best practice, implement lessons from similar incidents, recommend actions and capture outcomes and benefits This was eventually rolled out across all functions.
